Hello all,

I am just trying out FlexPro 6 demo version and practiceing importing files. My x column contains a date and time, but it is in a different format than expected by the import wizzard. the string in the data looks like
‘ 22-Jun-2006 21:10:05 ‘
Is there a way to change the string format of the import wizzard??

Thanks

After the import you have the possibility to change the calendar time format.

Select the dataset and open the Properties Window in the Context Menu.
Choose the tab Formatting.
Click the Change… button and choose the tab Calendar Time Value.

In this dialog you can choose your Calendar Time format.

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried that, but it is not working, just get ?’s in the column.

When I import, I am choosing D M Y h m s for the format, should I choose something else? I only get ?’s in my x column when I do this.

Thanks
Dena

the Ascii Import filter cannot import your data correctly (because of the language specific month format).
But there is a workaraound:
– Import the the column with the time values as strings. In this case you have to import the column as y-values.
– After the import you can convert the dataset with the strings to the data type Calendar time. (Context Menu|Properties|Data Types)

But this conversion is dependent on the OS local settings. For example the conversion of ‘Mar’ only works with an English OS.
