Performs a sequential operation for two index data sets.

Syntax

IndexBefore(Index1, Index2)

 

The syntax of the IndexBefore function consists of the following parts:

Index1

The first index data set with ascending indices or 2D indices.

Permitted data structures are data series und data matrix. All real data types are permitted.

Index2

The second index data set with ascending indices or 2D indices.

Permitted data structures are data series und data matrix. All real data types are permitted.

Remarks

As the result the function returns a data series of data type 64-bit integer.

Before the operation, the data are converted into 64-bit integers, if applicable. The two data series to be combined must contain values greater than or equal to zero that are sorted in ascending order. The result is a data series or data matrix with indices from Index1 which come before an index from Index2.

If the argument is a list, then the function is executed for each element of the list and the result is also a list.

Examples

IndexBefore({0, 5, 12, 13, 17, 19, 26, 32 }, {2, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 22, 24, 29})

Results in {0L, 5L, 13L, 19L, 26L}. Note that 17 is not output because it is present in both data sets.
