Weisang Opens Internet Discussion Forums for the FlexPro 6 Analysis Software
As of today, Weisang offers three discussion forums for the analysis software FlexPro on its web-site www.weisang.com. In these forums, FlexPro users can exchange experiences with colleagues, look for solutions to their problems and publish example code. The forums will be run in the English language only in order to achieve as wide a platform for discussion as possible. Richard Weisang, Chief Executive, comments as follows: "Along with the telephone support provided by our resellers, these new discussion forums are an important element of our communications with our customers. The forums are moderated by our developers, which guarantees that the information published is of a high quality and will lead to the fast distribution of our in-house know-how."
The "FlexPro - General" forum is there for the discussion of general FlexPro topics. The "FlexPro - FPScript" forum deals with all questions concerning this FlexPro analysis language. The "FlexPro - Automation and VBA" forum is aimed at users of FlexPro Professional working with the FlexPro Automation Object Model and Visual Basic For Applications in order to automate their evaluations.
Weisang's renowned data analysis package FlexPro is now in its 6th release and is used worldwide by thousands of engineers, scientists, and laboratory test technicians in many of the world's leading corporations, national laboratories, and academic institutions. With its state-of-the-art user interface and connectivity to data acquisition systems, FlexPro uniquely combines ease of use with high performance.

Weisang Announces Two New Options for its FlexPro 6 Software Package
2 June 2003, St. Ingbert Germany: Weisang GmbH & Co. KG announced today two new visual analysis options for its FlexPro 6 data analysis and visualization software. The first option adds extensive spectral analysis capabilities which include Fourier, wavelet, and principal component methods. The second module adds full acoustic analysis methods, such as sound level, sound power, and time-domain octave analysis.
Both options incorporate an innovative software user interface where users can easily discover the subtleties of complex analyses in well-crafted exploratory visual procedures. Richard Weisang, president and founder, indicated, "We expect our new visual analysis wizard to set a new standard for engineers and scientists analyzing signal data. The spectral analysis and acoustic options are only the first of many leading edge visual analysis modules we will release for the FlexPro environment in the months and years to come."
The spectral analysis option offers an extensive implementation of standard Fourier procedures, as well as the multitaper spectral method and a Fourier procedure for non-uniformly sampled data. For non-stationary data, the option offers short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) spectra with high resolution 3D graphics. For short data sequences, there are AR, ARMA, Eigen, and minimum variance methods, including a number of principal component methods that remove the influence of noise when computing the spectral model. For narrowband components, the module offers extensive harmonic analysis and for echo identification, the Cepstrum procedure. For LTI systems where two signals are compared, the spectral analysis module offers extensive cross-spectral methods, coherence, Signal/Noise spectra, and Fourier transfer function.
The acoustics module offers sound level computation with four different frequency weightings and five time weightings. Calibration can be done very easily by using the auto-calibration, where the calibrator is simply attached to the microphone at the beginning of a measurement. Sound power analysis includes all correction terms for barometric pressure and temperature, background noise, environmental correction and enveloping surface. The especially accurate octave analysis is based on a time-domain filter bank and offers a frequency resolution of up to 1/24 octave.
Weisang's venerable FlexPro data analysis package is now in its 6th release and is used worldwide by thousand of sengineers, scientists, and laboratory test technicians in many of the worlds leading corporations, national laboratories, and academic institutions. With its state-of-the-art user interface and connectivity to data acquisition systems, FlexPro uniquely combines ease of use with high performance.
