FlexPro 8 Released!
After three years of development, Weisang has released the new version 8 of its FlexPro analysis and presentation software simultaneously in German and English. The Japanese version will be released in the first quarter of 2009. The main objective behind the development of FlexPro 8 was to increase developer and end-user productivity.

FlexPro uses a unique way to link raw data, analyses and presentations to a dynamic object network that is now even easier to navigate. The new "Object Hierarchy" window displays a report in a hierarchical structure using objects ranging from documents, via diagrams and analyses down to the raw data. Dynamic Help in FlexPro offers new users a variety of help topics covering the currently active workspace or the selected object.

FlexPro's data cursors are an important interactive data analysis tool and have been completely revised. Curves can be easily translated in the diagram plane using the mouse or keyboard, for instance. The Coordinates Window displays custom coordinates that can either be selected from a list or programmed in FPScript. The worksheet, which is used for cursoring in diagrams, can now handle up to 16 diagrams and can be freely split into layers using the mouse.

The new function for curve dimensioning adds boundary lines, perpendicular lines, tangents, dimension lines, symbols or tolerance bands to a diagram. FlexPro diagrams have been expanded to include a wide range of new design elements such as orientation arrows and curve labels.
FlexPro 8 takes into account the continuously growing volumes of data generated when capturing dynamic processes. The sizes of FlexPro's project databases and even for individual data sets and are only limited by the available hard disk space. On multi-processor systems, FlexPro Professional performs parallel processing of calculations on data arrays and handles processor intensive operations in the background.
FlexPro 8 offers developers who design analysis algorithms in FlexPro's native FPScript programming language a new Code Editor with syntax hilighting and a wide range of wizard functions. The debugger is now integrated in the user interface and displays vectorial interim results and the content of variables in a Watch Window. When adding new objects, FlexPro 8 verifies the data types and structures of the selected data, thus preventing many errors from ever occurring.

Improvements have also been made to mainstream analyses offered as analysis objects. For instance, the "Event Isolation" analysis object finds not only logical links of events, such as slopes or level crossings, but also sequences of these events.
About FlexPro
FlexPro is a comprehensive software package for analysis and presentation of technical data and is used worldwide by thousands of engineers, scientists and measurement technology experts in industry, research and education. Large amounts of data can be imported into FlexPro’s object database using a variety of binary formats. In addition to a basic set of more than 200 analysis functions, special modules are available for spectral analysis, acoustics, counting procedures, digital filters, order tracking analysis, statistics and human body vibrations.
More information on FlexPro 8, including a free 30-day evaluation copy of FlexPro, is available on Weisang's web site: www.weisang.com.
About Weisang
Weisang GmbH, headquartered in St. Ingbert, Germany has been developing software for technical and scientific applications since the early nineties. In addition to its core product FlexPro, which is available worldwide through a constantly growing distribution network, Weisang also develops custom solutions for data acquisition and analysis for test beds and manufacturing facilities.

FlexPro 7.0.20 Accepts Additional Import Formats
The FlexPro 7.0.20 maintenance release supports several new import formats. The Astro-Med import filter now reads the files written by the Astro-DAQ Xe, Dash 8HF, Dash 20 and Dash 32HF recorders. The import filter for Catman files and ODBC databases have been updated. The extended import filter for Wave audio files now accepts 24 and 32 bit data. A new import filter for the Yokogawa MX100 data acquisition system has been added. The formats EDAS and EDAS-Win can be exported.
Furthermore, several improvements have been made to increase FlexPro's stability and performance.

FlexPro 7.0.19 Released with Extra Import Options
This maintenance update includes a new import filter for “nSoft Time Series” (*.dac) files from the company nCode. The import filter for Graphtec files now also supports the GL200 and GL800 data loggers. In addition, the Data Translation HPF file import filter has been improved.
FlexPro 7.0.19 also includes a number of improvements to make the software more stable. In particular, a problem that only occurred in version 7.0.18 has been fixed. This version of FlexPro would crash when a document was updated that contained a broken link to a presentation object, such as a diagram that had recently been deleted.
All FlexPro users who have a maintenance agreement will receive a free CD of the new version. All other customers who received version 7.0.18 will be able to download this release for free. To request the download, simply send an e-mail to
support@weisang.com with the name of the licensee and the last five digits of the license key (for example: E-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-12345). You can view this number in the “About FlexPro” dialog box.

New FlexPro Maintenance Version 7.0.18 Supports Windows Vista
Windows Vista is the latest version of the Microsoft operating system and has been available since the beginning of 2007. Windows Vista offers users increased security through the new user account control and makes the system more robust through improved separation between system, user and application-related data. FlexPro 7.0.18 takes these changes into account and therefore runs as a native Windows Vista application instead of running only in compatibility mode. FlexPro was also tested with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista and runs as a 32-bit application on that system.
Once again, a number of detailed improvements have been added to the maintenance update to further improve the performance and stability of FlexPro. The new import filters for the Yokogawa WDF format (such as for the DL 9000 series) and for the High Performance File Format (HPF) for data translation reinforce FlexPro as a powerful platform for evaluating measured data.
All FlexPro users who have a maintenance agreement will receive a free CD of the new version.

FlexPro 7.0.17 Maintenance Update Released
Main new features are import support for the HIOKI 8860 and 8861 binary file formats as well as import and export support for the National Instruments TDM/TDMS file format which is used in the Diadem software.
The new version is available immediately for all new orders. FlexPro users with a maintenance agreement will be sent the new FlexPro version on CD free of charge.

Digital Filters Option for FlexPro Released
Weisang presents the new Digital Filters option for its FlexPro analysis and presentation software. The latest IIR and FIR filter design methods are at the core of this add-on module. FIR filters are popular due to their stability and phase linearity. FlexPro offers the window and FIR equiripple methods for designing FIR filters. In addition to highpass, lowpass, bandpass and bandstop filters, the second method lets you design any type of multiband filter, allowing you to set the permitted ripple in separate bands individually.
The Digital Filters option also includes the Sawitzky-Golay, Loess and Lowess smoothing filters as well as the CFC filter in compliance with ISO 6487, which is an important crash test analysis tool.
With the Digital Filters Option, Weisang focuses on engineers, scientists, and in particular measurement technology experts who often need to filter multichannel measurements quickly. Thus, the filters have been integrated into the FlexPro Analysis Wizard, which merges steps for designing filters, filtering multiple data sets, and presenting results into a simple process. Filters designed once can be saved as templates and can then be reused.
