FlexPro has a powerful import filter for the binary formats of many measurement systems and data acquisition packages. The list of supported formats is constantly expanding. The fastest way for you to import your data is just by using drag & drop to drag the files from Windows Explorer into FlexPro Explorer. FlexPro automatically recognizes the current format and imports your data complete with comments and units. Using a customizable binary import product, you can also read in formats not directly supported by FlexPro. For importing you can copy the data into the FlexPro database or create links to the original files. In the second instance you can acquire objects in the database that you can use like datasets, but which read your data from the original files.
With the text data import wizard, you can import data from ASCII files. The wizard supports a manual import method with which you can set the import for each column separately, and an automatic import method with which a dataset is automatically created for each column. The current file is automatically analyzed in both cases so that usually you do not have to make any changes to the settings. If you would like to repeat importation of similar files, you can save all of the settings as an import schema. FlexPro then automatically recognizes the file in the future and can import it directly.
To access databases, FlexPro uses an ODBC import interface. The ODBC standard is supported by almost all databases available under Windows. Here you can also either import the data as a copy in FlexPro or create links to the database columns.
Not only can FlexPro import Excel tables but it can also directly open them using Excel. To do this, the Excel table is displayed in the Explorer data view. Now you can highlight areas in the Excel table and use the analyses and graphics from FlexPro in addition to those of Excel. FlexPro creates data links for accessing the data, which are displayed in the list view. You can use these links in FlexPro as datasets.
There are special modules available for the popular DasyLab, LabView, Agilent VEE and TestPoint data acquisition packages that you can use to export data directly to FlexPro and even send some commands to FlexPro to update an analysis or to print a document, for instance. The communications modules are installed directly into the respective acquisition software. Communication is based on the FlexPro FPAccess interface, which uses the Windows COM standard. Since the FPAccess interface is also available as a DLL variant, you can even add FlexPro databases with it and provide data without having FlexPro installed.
The new ASAM ODS data browser in FlexPro provides you with a visual interface for easy access to ASAM ODS server or ATF/ATFX file data. FlexPro clearly arranges all of the data or any pre-selected data using the integrated search tool in a hierarchical structure. Within this structure you can easily select data to import using drag & drop. Both numeric data and the associated metadata are imported. As a standard feature in FlexPro, data objects can be added to the FlexPro project as copies of or as links to the original data on the server.
